Penn State Takes Another Hit

Penn State has taken another hit created by the Sandusky child molestation scandal.

As we all know, players from the current Penn State Team are allowed to leave for greener pastures and the first player has left.

The NCAA Will Announce Penn States Punishment

Today the NCAA announced that tomorrow morning they will tell the world what sanctions Penn State will have to endure.

The NCAA said in a statement on Sunday that it will announce "corrective and punitive measures" for Penn State at 9 a.m. on Monday. While multiple reports indicate that the school will no receive the so-called "death penalty" that would have would suspended the football program, the sanctions are expected to be harsh.

Harsh? I know my opinion may lose me business in the state of Pa and with Nittany Lions fans. However their offense, ( Sandusky, Paterno, Spanier and Curly) is so egregious anything short of the death penalty is an affront to the Penn State victims.

The entire leadership of Penn State closed their eyes to a child molester who used their football program as bait for child rape. The rapes took place in their facilities and they allowed it.

By far this is more offensive than MSU paying players to play. This is the poster child for an institution out of control with greed for money, prestige and power. They feared for themselves instead of taking the right course of action protecting the helpless against a predator. They made all the school and their football program stand for a lie.

They made a terrible choice, instead of doing the right thing, taking a small hit and in the end walking their talk and becoming heroes, they took the cowards way out, enabling a child molesting rapist to use their assets to continue his evil ways.

In my mind that does deserve the death penalty, once again the NCAA has wimped out bowing to the pressures of powerful schools and looking at the money. Shame on the NCAA

Joe Paterno: His Statue Is Removed

Penn State makes the right move and removes the Joe Paterno Statue.

"I now believe that, contrary to its original intention, coach Paterno's statue has become a source of division and an obstacle to healing in our university and beyond," university president Rodney Erickson said in a statement. "I believe that, were it to remain, the statue will be a recurring wound to the multitude of individuals across the nation and beyond who have been the victims of child abuse."

A picture is worth a thousand words, I believe this picture says it all. It clearly represents what Joe Pa, Spanier and Curly did at Penn State, closed their eyes to Sandusky's child raping ways.

As the sun came up, the Joe Paterno statue began coming down.
By 7:45 a.m. this morning, jackhammers rattled behind a metal fence covered by a blue tarp. The statue was tied to a forklift. The fence shielded the statue, covered in clear plastic and protective packaging materials.
The statue was removed at 8:24 a.m. The forklift carried it into the stadium's Gate A as about a dozen workers followed.
A moment later, a man in the crowd started a "We are Penn State" chant. After it finished, another man yelled, "We love you, Joe."

Gone are the words describing Paterno as a humanitarian. An hour after workers removed the statue, they removed all plaques and lettering from the wall behind where the statue stood.

In this country we do not build shrines to pedophiles or their enablers. The evidence clearly shows Joe Paterno was an enabler.

A University of Idaho Vandal: What was he thinking?

As most of you know, I am an ardent Boise State Bronco fan. Needless to say when the opportunity comes to jab the Vandals I usually make use of the chance. However I have not used this blog to do so.

Earlier this year the Vandals were forced to remove " flagship university" from their mission statement. Naturally the vandals were upset and raised a big ruckus over this perceived lack of respect.

Perhaps they would fare better if they taught their alums how to spell. The following picture was recently taken at the Spokane, Washington Airport.

Vandal fans, seriously? VanDall?

Of course this is the same University of Idaho Vandals who embarrassed themselves in their 2008 opening game against the University of Arizona. Nice logo placement
Flag ship university, I don't think so.
