What is Michael Vick Thinking?

I was listening to the Steve Zabin Show on Fox Radio and Michael Vick was on the menu.

According to Zabin in Vick's most recent court filings he is discussing his plans on how to pay back all the monies he owes not just to the Falcons but to all his creditors.

Zabin claims the documents state when Vick returns to the NFL he believes he, Vick will be eraning 10 million per year.

I dont know what Vick and his advisors are thinking. There is no guarantee Vick will be able to return to the NFL. No guarantee that any team will want him, let alone compensate him 10 million per season.

In my opinion restoring Vick to the NFL is risky business. What ever team would accept him inherits a public relations night mare.

Even if a team is willing to take a chance on Vick, there is a good chance he wont make through a regular season.

I dont think Vick and his people realize how egregious his offenses are to the general public. I can see head hunters from opposing teams putting in extra effort to let Vick know how the think about what he did.

A missed block, late hit or a solid knee shot could end his comeback and I have no doubt there are dog lovers in the NFL that would have no problem extracting revenge on Vick for his murder of dogs.

I can't imagine any corporate endorsementst coming his way. Vick's name and public image may well be beyond repair.

Zabin went on to say Vick's pre prison spending demonstrates the man is either reckless or delusional or both.

According to Zabin, the day Vick was sent to prison he showed up in a brand new off the showroom floor 96 thousnad dollar Mercedes Benz that he had paid cash for earlier in the day. Sounds like GM and Chrysler showing up in Congress looking for bail out dollars while flying in private corporate jets.

Wild pre prison spending, saying he will be picked up by a team for 10 million per year, what is Michael Vick thinking?
Please post your comments, let us know what you are thinking.

Who Is The Best Team In College Football?

This title certainly invites debate especially after last season.

Is it Florida, Texas, USC, or some other team from the top 10? We could debate that all day and still not have a clear and concise answer.

So who is the best college team in football today? If you look at the one criteria the pollsters cannot influence, then it has to be...... are you ready for this? Notre Dame.
Yes that is right The Fighting Irish is the best team in college football that money can buy.

If ND's football program was like a pro team and could be bought and sold, according to Forbes, the asking price would be a cool $101 million, making them the most valuable college football team in the nation.

Unlike the other programs, Notre Dame's athletic department operates under the umbrella of the university and is not run as its own distinct entity. As a result, a much higher share of profits are retained by university for academic use. The football team's contribution to academics totaled $21.1 million for the 2006-2007 season--that's as much as the next five most valuable teams contributed to their respective schools combined.

Regardless of what a person thinks of Notre Dame Football, they are doing it right and their academics benefits making ND #1 where it counts most, the bank account.

Beware of the Stimulus Scam

My information comes from my antivirus company, Invisus a Utah based company. I have used them for 2 years and always found them reliable.

I am unable to copy and paste from their warning so I will share the nuts and bolts of what they say.

Internet users beware of emails and websites that tell you they can help you get your share of the $800 billion stimulus package. acting director Eileen Harrington of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection has singled out a few sites as part of the scam, presidentobamasgrants, jessicasmoneyblog.com and officialstimulusgrants.co are just a few.

What they do is offer you a kit and to help walk you through the system for only $1.99, What happens is
when you sign up for this kit you are also being signed up for a membership if you do not cancel in 14 days that will cost you an additional one time fee of $99.00. also you will be signed up to another site for $49.95 per month and a debt site for $29.95 monthly.

Harrington told a news conference not to sign up for any sites offering help to get part of the stimulus package, that if you do you will be scammed.

Please be ware and use common sense, as times get tighter, the scammers will be more clever. Don't sign up for any of these sites.

I do hope this posting will help people from being scammed. Thanks for reading it. If you know of other scams, please leave a comment so we can further protect hard working people.

T.O. is a Bill

Like many of the pundits I thought T.O. would be banished tot he Raiders, the last stop for many troubled players, however thst is not the case, Owens is a Buffalo Bill.

He has gone from one of footballs larger markjets tot he second smallest market in the east. Now Owens will pracrice his craft outside the main stream media.

Terrell signed a one year deal worth 6.5 million yesterday witht he Buffalo Bills and it is actually a pay increase of about 800k than he would have had in Dallas.

Owens brings aloit to the Bills, he can help open up the run game and Buffalos other star receiver, but can he leave his efgo and mouth in Dallas?

There in lies the question, can T.O pull a Randy Moss and keep his mouth shut and let his play do the talking. For Moss and the Pats it has worked out well since Moss put a cork in his mouth.

I hope Owens can folow the lead of Randy Moss and just play football, be a team plyer and team leader, not a team whiner. Owens maybe slower and older but he still has talent and if he keps his mouth shut, he can some what redem his legacy.

Can Owens do it, time will tell.

WAGS Weighted Agility Gloves

As I announced in an earlier post I finally got a pair of WAGS.

Now that I have had a couple of weeks to try out the weighted agility gloves I want to report on them.

First is the fit, I found WAGS to fit snugly but not too tight where they impeded my hand or finger movement, so I have to rate them as comfortable and very functional.

As advertised they have the weights on the backs of the hands and on the fingers, right down to the finger tips. At first I thought the weights on the fingers would be cumbersome and a pain in the neck, but they are comfortable and effective.

The way they do this is the weighted agility gloves place curved weights over the two finger joints and one over the finger nails adding weight to the work out.

I was able to tell the difference in my muscles, I could tell they were working my hands, fingers wrists and forearms. I have to say they did make me stronger in those areas and did increase my hand speed.

One area I used them and liked the results was for my weakened rotary cuffs, doing eh exercises prescribed by a doctor were far more effective using the weighted agility gloves.

Regardless of the position or sport you play, I can honestly see how using them can improve your game and suggest you use the link to check them out WAGS Weighted Agility Gloves

Spring Football Is Back

Across the country many schools are gearing up for Spring ball and some are actually starting Spring ball today.

Out here in the frozen tundra of Idaho, Boise State will have its first spring practice today. I do hope some one snow plowed the field.

We have had snow storms over the last two days. I don't know much about global warming, but out here in spud peeler land, we would welcome some warming. Right now it is a blistering 32 degrees, a heat wave as of late.

regardless of weather and temperatures the sow must and will go on, spring football at both the high school and college level are here.

As a 40 year Boise State fan I look forward to what the Broncos will bring to the table this season. They have said they will focus on the running game as well they should. Last season the finished 54th in the nation, the lowest out put since 2003 when they had a receiving corp and quarterback second to none. Quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie lead the nation in passing efficiency that year.

Graduation claiming star running back Ian Johnson leaves big shoes to fill. Where Boise needs the most work is the offensive line. They did well last season pass blocking for red shirt quarterback sensation Kellen Moore but the run blocking was lacking and it showed all season long.

As die hard football fans Spring ball has to carry us till fall camp when we all anxiously await the call our perspective teams opening kick off.
In the mean time I wish some one out here in Idaho would pay the electric bill, its freezing the tater tots.

Football Quarterback Training Videos

In a previous article I discussed how to read the defense and how quarterback training videos could help you develop this skill. Now I want to discuss why buy quarterback training videos on reading the defense.

The first reason is to develop the mental part of the game. Being able to break the huddle, stepping up to the line of scrimmage and be able to read the defense. The better you can read defenses the better you will be able to play quarterback.

The most successful quarterbacks at the college and pro level developed their defense reading skills early. The more they developed these skills, the more their career advanced.

The second reason is football is a physical game, every season we see quarterbacks getting hurt, knocked out of the game with season and some times career ending injuries.

I am not saying you can avoid being injured at the quarterback position. What I am saying, the better you can read defenses the better you can protect yourself, picking up a blitz, changing the play and maybe making a big play at the same time.

In conclusion leaning how to read the defense gives you the mental aspects you need to play quarterback and can help you protect yourself against injury.

When you are ready to buy more quarterback training videos, consider including quarterback training videos that will teach you how to read the defense.

For more information on videos how to read the defense visit the web page listed below and see a complete selection of quarterback training videos on reading the defense

We offer a complete list of training videos on how to read defenses at Reading The Defense
We also have a full line of the quarterback training aids designed to help you improve your game at Quarterback Training Aids

Koobface, Other Worms Target Facebook Friends (NewsFactor)

As Facebook works to make itself more relevant and timely for its growing member base with a profile page makeover, attackers seem to be working overtime to steal the identities of the friends, fans and brands that connect though the social-networking site.

Indeed, Facebook has seen five different security threats in the past week. According to Trend Micro, four new hoax applications are attempting to trick members into divulging their usernames and passwords. And a new variant of the Koobface worm is running wild on the site, installing malware on the computers of victims who click on a link to a fake YouTube video.

The Koobface worm is dangerous. It can be dropped by other malware and downloaded unknowingly by a user when visiting malicious Web sites, Trend Micro reports. When attackers execute the malware, it searches for cookies created by online social networks. The latest variant is targeting Facebook, but earlier variants have also plagued MySpace.

Koobface's Wicked Agenda

Once Koobface finds the social-networking cookies, it makes a DNS query to check IP addresses that correspond to remote domains. Trend Micro explains that those servers can send and receive information about the affected machine. Once connected, the malicious user can remotely perform commands on the victim's machine.

"Once cookies related to the monitored social-networking Web sites are located, it connects to these Web sites using the user log-in session stored in the cookies. It then navigates through pages to search for the user's friends. If a friend has been located, it sends an HTTP POST request to the server," Trend Micro reports.

Ultimately, the worm's agenda is to transform the victim's computer into a zombie and form botnets for malicious purposes. Koobface attempts to do this by composing a message and sending it to the user's friends. The message contains a link to a Web site where a copy of the worm can be downloaded by unsuspecting friends. And the cycle repeats itself.

An Attractive Face(book)

Malware authors are investing more energy in Facebook and other social-networking sites because that effort pays off, according to Michael Argast, a security analyst at Sophos. Facebook alone has more than 175 million users, which makes it an attractive target.

"Many computer users have been conditioned not to open an attachment from an e-mail or click a link found within, but won't think twice about checking out a hot new video linked to by a trusted friend on Facebook," Argast said.

Argast called the Koobface worm a mix of something old and something new. The new is using social networks as a method to spread malware. The old is using fake codec Trojans linked to a saucy video to induce the user to install the malware.

Argast said people can protect themselves by running up-to-date antivirus software, restricting which Facebook applications they install, thinking twice before clicking on links from friends and never, never installing a codec from some random Web site in the hopes of catching some celebrity in a compromised situation.

"I would expect to see more attacks on Facebook," Argast said. "As long as this is a successful propagation method, the bad guys will double down and invest more. They are entirely motivated by financial gain. If it pays, they'll continue to romp in your social playgrounds."

Got an extra $3 milion?

If you want to live in Duluth, Georgia and have an extra 3 million they have such a deal for you.

Tues the mansion of one Michael Vick goes on the block. Yes his 3 story 8 bedroom 8 bathroom home is being sold to help pay bankrupt Vick's bills.

It is hard for me to fathom making the kind of money he did and being bankrupt. How does one go through all those millions of dollars and end up broke.

I do not know the answer to the question but Michael Vick did it. So if you want to buy his home, the bidding starts at 3.2 million and could reach as high as 4 million.

If you have cash and want to live in a former super stars home and the elite area of Duluth appeals to bring 4 million and you get the Vick mansion at a bargain price.

Vick is not the only one geting hit hard. Tiger Woods will not be promoting Buick for the first time in nine years. Buick in a cost cutting move ended its association with Tiger. They figure they will save $7 million annually.

Woman's pro golf is canceling some of its scheduled events because sponsorship money is drying up. For that group of athletes I have compassion. There is no way the ladies can make as much money as the men's PGA, let alone the type of money Tiger Woods can earn.

As the recession deepens we can expect to pay more to see less in pro sports. Thank the good Lord for high school and college sports. Down South high school football is a religious passion that the rest of the country can learn from. Perhaps the silver lining is across the country high school athletics will get more atention and sponsorship.

T. O. a Raider

From what I am hearing the only team interested in Terrell Owens could be the Oakland Raiders. Could Owens finish his career in the silver and black?

Hard to imagine T. O in a Raiders uniform but it is possible. They do need a marquee receiver and he could be their guy, he wouldn't get them to the play offs or a Super Bowl, but T. O. is running out of teams and time.

At 35 years of age, his time is limited, he has maybe 2 or 3 years left.

Will T. O. find a new home?

Terrell Owens was cut by the Dallas Cowboys today, inspite of Jerry Jones saying just a few weeks ago that TO would remain a Cowboy.

Dallas cut the fabled wide receiver earlier today and it is believed because of the locker room distractions he is famous for creating.

Owens played three seasons for the Cowboys and prior to that with the Eagles, where he and quarterack Donavan McNabb had several conflicts.

Releasing Owens takes $9million off the teams salary cap, and with that they should be able to find a good receiver or two.

Last season TO caught 69 passes for just over 1,000 yards last season, the fewest since since 2005 when he missed half the season with a broken leg.

T. O. is technacily still property of the Cowboys so teams are not permitted to say whether they have an interest in him or not. At age 35 it makes it even more difficult to find teams that will want him and be willing to pay him what he wants.

ProFootballTalk.com has created a list of teams that have as they say, told them through league sources that they have no interest in T. O. the list right now is at 10 teams and expected to grow.

It is really sad to see such a talent lost and wasted, but his refusal to just suite up and show seems to be at the heart of the issue. Why wont Terrell just go play football and leave the off field antics alone?

He may very well be the best receiver since Jerry Rice and sadly that is where it ends. Rice will be remembered for his on field performance, while Terrell will be remembered eqaully well for both the way he played and all the trouble he caused in the locker room.

I am not sure Terrell will retire, and if he is picked up by another team, this time I hope he does it right, keeping his mouth shut and letting his play do all his talking.

Either way, retired of picked up, Owens has left his mark on the game. If he does get one more chance, I wish him all the best and hope his final NFL years are his best and unmarked by conterversy.

Weighted Football Training Gloves - How to Choose Them

There are many weighted football training gloves on the market. Each of the football training gloves promises to improve hand strength and hand speed. How do you decide which weighted football training gloves are best suited for your needs? The purpose of this article is to help you know how to choose the best results producing football training gloves.

There are many types and brands of weighted training gloves on the market. Some are weighted on the hand, some the wrist and the hand, ranging in prices from $$39.99 to $59.99.

What you want is a training glove that will give your entire hands the most thorough work out, not just the backs of the hands. Working more than just hand and wrist muscles, you want to exercise the fingers, hands, wrists and forearm muscles.

The best weighted football training gloves are the ones that have weights on the hands and extend all the way down to the tips of the fingers, or finger weighted training gloves.

Having the weights evenly distributed over the hands and fingers allows you to fully articulate in sports specific motions, adding to resistance as you use them whether it is catching the ball, swinging a base ball bat or shooting hoops.

Stronger hands and fingers will add to your on field performance increasing hand speed, strength, agility and dexterity.

In conclusion, if you are going to train with weighted gloves, get the most out of your training and gloves, use gloves that spread the weights evenly over the hands and fingers, improve your on field performance with stronger faster hands. Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes uses them. Use the link below and see his interview and hear for yourself which weighted gloves he uses for his football training gloves.

We Have Lost A National Treasure

Saturday February 28, 2009 marks the conclusion of one man's life and the passing of a national treasure. We are a lesser country for it. Yesterday we lost a national icon with the death of Paul Harvey.

For decades Mr. Harvey touched our lives with his radio show, inviting us into his world and sharing with us stories from around the world. Many people like myself found Paul's stories touching, some funny, others that would get your dander up. Always delivered in that same staccato voice. I think his voice and speech pa terns made him stand out from the crowd and was one of his greatest assets.

One story he told back in 1978 that has always stuck with me, why I don't know, but it has. It was about a young kid whose dad bought him a brand new van for graduation. The van was loaded, bar, cruise control, the works. Maybe it was because the van had the cruise control and I had just got my first car that had cruise control.

The event happened back east some where. The kid was going down a free way and decided to mix a drink. He put the van on cruise control and went back to mix himself a drink and had no recollection of what happened next. Any how that is what he told the doctors in the hospital when he woke up. He had placed the van in cruise control and just didn't know what happened after that.

Fortunately the kid was not too badly banged up nor was anyone else hurt. Harvey always had stories that showed us our strengths our failings and he always tried to give us hope.

The show I will miss most was his, now you know the rest of the story. He always have intriguing stories about fascinating people and the whole story about them or events that involved them. As I write this, sadly none of the stories come to mind. I just know I will miss them and the way he told them.

I know I will miss Paul Harvey and had for over a year, he was seldom on his show this last year, his son and others took over much of the broadcast duties. Last year Mr. Harvey lost his wife, I suspect loneliness, missing his wife may have contributed to his passing.

Yes yesterday we lost a national treasure, Paul Harvey dead at age 90 and as Paul ended his broadcasts I will end this entry with the same style, now you know the rest of the story........good day
