College Football and Television

It is only 9 fast months before we are glued to our television sets watching our favorite sport...Football. Yes 9 months seems like a long ways away but it will go fast and another football season will be here. What kind of TV do you want to watch it on? Last summer I purchased a 32 inch HD flat screen to replace my old cart TV that finally gave up its ghost. It is an excellent television but too small. The screen has plenty of width but lacks in the height I want and it was all I could afford at the time. Over the years having heard the best time to buy a new TV is after the Super Bowl I waited it out. I did not see any great deals at my local Walmart at first so I decided to wait a little longer and save up some more cash. Last Thursday I had occasion to visit Walmart and of-course checked out their newest deals on televisions. There were some deals but still a little more than what I wanted to spend. The deal that jumped out most was an LED Samsung HD Flat-screen marked down to $600.00 that normally retailed for $1,249.00. It was late and there were three of them available on what they called a managers sale. More on that later. I decided to take the rest of the night and think it over. When I returned the next afternoon to make my big purchase they were gone.....opportunity lost.....or was it? I had a nice visit with the salesman and he showed me the replacement television for the deleted version I had decided to buy. The replacement model shows 120 pictures or pixels per second versus the 60 per second that the deleted model offered. Telling me that new model provides a sharper crisper image. Deleted items still have all the warranties but are just replaced by a newer better model. He told me come back the first few days of March, saying that is the best time to buy. The new models for the year are coming out and they will be having clearance sales as well as sales on deleted models. Deleted models are the best as in the case of the Samsung, he told me at $600.00, that was less than what Walmart paid for it. A manager sale is when the manager of that particular store is allowed to put an item on sale at a very low price and it is only happening in his store. For those of you thinking about getting a new TV and getting a jump start on the up coming football season......next week just might be the best time for you to look and buy. I know I will be at my Walmart no later than Thursday or Friday. Looking for good buys on football training and coaching videos? Visit our online store at: scoretouchdowns.com
