Our Prayers Go Out to the Family of Steve McNair

For those of you that may not know, former NFL Quarterback Steve McNair and a young woman were found in a Nashville, Tennessee condo yesterday senselessly murdered.

What a tragedy, McNair leaves behind a wife and four children. Our prayers go out to the family and friends of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi, the young lady found with him.

Early yesterday afternoon long time friend Wayne Neeley who co-rents the condo where the bodies were found, went to the condo and found them in the front room. At first he did not realize anything was wrong. Only when he was returning from the kitchen, he saw the blood on the floor.

Neeley called another ling time McNair friend, Robert Gaddy who called 911. Police arrived shortly after and did find a gun presumed to be the murder weapon.

As of this posting , police are keeping a tight lid on the case and have few clues and no suspects.

What a trajedy, two young people cut down like this, one in his prime as a business man. McNair had just opened a restaurant in Nasheville on June 9th, and a young woman standing on the threshold of her adult life.

I first became aware of Air McNair back in his college days at Alcorn State where he electrified fans and opponents with his passing attack. Becoming an instant fan of both he and school I followed them and cheered for them during their run to claim the national title for division II football.

He will always be remembered for long sustained drives, carrying his team on his back. The most noted being the final drive in the 2000 Super Bowl, certainly one of the greatest drives in Super Bowl history.

Today as you go about your business perhaps you can give a kind thought and prayer to the families of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi.
