Amidst the Bowl Selections and college players getting the different awards we have other players grabbing headlines for being air heads.
I know it seems like I focus on the air heads, but it is my hope that any young people reading my blog will see that know matter how smart they think they are, air heads get caught.
We have seen a player from Iowa get caught for having a drug house. the money he made will never equal what a college degree. He might have been NFL quality, but if he goes to prison, what difference will it make? I doubt the NFL will have much interest in a kid who was doing time and unable to keep his skills up to par. After all he would still remain an unknown quantity.
Washington State has two players in hot water over being pot dealers. How smart can they be, throwing away a college education for quick cash, throwing away an chance to maybe one day play in the pros.
Now UConn has an 18 year old red shirt who has exceeded the stupidity of all the mentioned above. This kid will be branded with the scarlet letters of kddie porn man. Yet he is still a kid himself. He most likely will do time, the closest he will get to playing football will be in the prison yard.
At 18 he will probably have to go into protective custody to be protected from predatory inmates. Eighteen and his life is forever scarred if not ruined, he threw so much away for child pornography.
The arrest of the UConn player happened on Wednesday and he admits to having 20 kiddie porn movies and pictures of children between ages 8 and 15 on his computer. He is under a $75,000.00 bond.
To ask what was he thinking is a waste of time, he wasnt.
It truly saddens me when I see young people throw their futures away over such dumb things. I post what they do in hopes some one who is on the verge of making bad decisions will rethink what they are doing or about to do and make better choices.
